Lake Palestine is the site of one of the Cherokee Nation's meeting grounds.

"Cherokee Bluffs" was an Indian burial ground on Lake Palestine. Tyler has Caldwell zoo and Discovery Science place. The new Gander Mountain store.

Tyler's Municipal Rose Garden is the nation's largest with more than 38,000 rose bushes.Adjacent is The Tyler Civic Theater which offers many excellent plays "in the round" throughout the year. Tyler has many fine restaurants and museums. The Caldwell zoo is known worldwide. Discovery Science Place is a hands on kids museum. Tyler Rose festival in Oct. and Azalea trails near Easter.

Athens is famous for The Athens Scuba Park, an old quarry, complete with a sunken plane, (scuba lessons available) and The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, an innovative aquarium and hatchery complex, with many fishing programs for children.



10 miles south is The Pine Dunes Resort and Golf Club, a world renowned, public course, in Frankston. This is the perfect time to enjoy it.
